The largest alumni contingent in the event's history helped make this year's Careers Expo a resounding success, connecting students with real-world experience and career inspiration. Overnewton students had the opportunity to explore a diverse range of career pathways at the College's annual Careers Expo yesterday, with a record 30 Old Collegians returning to share their experiences and insights. Representing the largest alumni contingent in the event's history, the Old Collegians joined university representatives and industry professionals to provide students with valuable first-hand advice about life after school. The strong alumni presence reflected the depth and breadth of talent within the Overnewton community and reinforced the importance of giving back to future generations. Students engaged enthusiastically with exhibitors from a wide range of industries, including healthcare, engineering, technology, psychology, law, marketing and the creative arts. Among those sharing their expertise were Lawyer Amanda Lis (Class of 2019) from Twenty20 Legal, Senior Cloud Engineer Sam Hernandez (Class of 2014) from BUPA, Senior Economist Lucy Murphy (Class of 2017) from the Department of Treasury and Finance, Clinical Psychologist David Collins (Class of 1997) from You Psychology, and Clinical Nurse Educator Michael Larin (Class of 2012) Royal Children's Hospital. Current university students and recent graduates also offered valuable perspectives on tertiary study, with representatives from The University of Melbourne, RMIT University, Swinburne University and Federation University helping our Senior School students prepare to navigate the transition from school to further education. Well attended and expertly organised, the event provided students with the opportunity to ask questions, seek advice and gain a deeper understanding of the many pathways available to them. The high level of engagement throughout the evening demonstrated the curiosity and ambition of Overnewton students, while the record number of returning Old Collegians showcased the enduring strength of the College community. The College extends its sincere thanks to all exhibitors, particularly the 35 Old Collegians who generously gave their time and expertise to inspire the next generation of Overnewton graduates.
